Privacy Policy
Last updated: 30 June 2026
The short version: ChallengeME is a private, parent-controlled app. Parents hold the account; children use profiles set up and managed by their parent. We do not show ads, sell data, track users across other apps, or collect location. Children have no public profiles and cannot be contacted by strangers. A parent can view, edit, and delete their children's data at any time.
1.Who we are
ChallengeME is owned and operated by Silicon Biztech Limited (the data controller), a company registered in England and Wales. Company number 11654853. Registered office: Southbridge House, Southbridge Place, Croydon, England, CR0 4HA. Contact: support@challengeme.life.
2.Who uses ChallengeME
The app is designed for a parent or guardian (an adult) to use together with the children in their family. The adult creates the account, sets up a profile for each child, creates challenges, approves completed challenges, and manages rewards. Children interact only through the profiles their parent creates. ChallengeME is not a social network — no public profiles, no messaging with strangers, no friend requests.
3.Information we collect
From the parent: email address and a securely hashed password. About a child (entered by the parent): first name or display name, an approximate age band, and an optional avatar. Activity: challenges, completions, approvals, points, badges, rewards, and short notes; a private family activity feed. Consent records: when a parent creates or deletes a child profile we record that this happened, as evidence of parental consent. Limited technical information needed to run and secure the service. We deliberately do NOT collect location, advertising identifiers, biometrics, contacts, microphone, or behavioural advertising data.
4.How we use information and our lawful basis
We use this information only to provide and run ChallengeME and to keep accounts secure. Under UK GDPR our lawful bases are: performance of a contract with the parent; consent for a child's information (provided and managed by the parent, who can withdraw it any time); and legitimate interests in security.
5.Children's privacy
We follow the UK Age Appropriate Design Code (the Children's Code) and, for US families, COPPA. Children do not create their own accounts; a parent controls every profile and provides consent. We minimise data, do not profile children for advertising, and do not use nudge techniques. Parents can review, correct, and delete a child's data at any time. To report a concern, email support@challengeme.life.
6.Sharing
We do not sell personal information and do not share it for advertising. Information is shared only with the service providers we rely on to run the app (a cloud hosting/database provider storing data in the UK/EU region under data-protection contracts; the app-delivery platform). We may disclose information if required by law.
7.Storage and security
Data is stored on secure cloud infrastructure in the UK/EU region, encrypted in transit and at rest, with access controls so each family's data is isolated. Child Mode is protected by a parent-set PIN.
8.Retention
We keep account and activity data while the account is active. When you delete a child profile or your account, the associated data is deleted. Limited records required for legal or compliance reasons may be retained for a limited period.
9.Your rights
You can delete data in the app under Settings (Delete child profile / Delete account), or request deletion via challengeme.life/data-deletion. Under UK law you have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object, and data portability; parents exercise these for their children. Contact support@challengeme.life. If unresolved, you may complain to the ICO (ico.org.uk).
10.Changes
We may update this policy; significant changes will be reflected in the date above.
